Sonali Bhattacharyya is a playwright whose credits include 2066 (Almeida); Twelve (Kali Theatre); These Four Streets (Birmingham Rep); A Thin Red Line (Kali Theatre, Birmingham Rep & Black Country Touring); and the South Bank Show Award nominated White Open Spaces (Pentabus Theatre).


Sonali is a graduate of the Royal Court Writers' Group, and the inaugural Old Vic 12, where she was commissioned to write a new play, Five Years. She is currently one of the Orange Tree Theatre's Writers' Collective. She is developing Deepa The Saint (with Theatre 503), the musical Kali’s Toenail (with Theatre Royal Stratford East) and is under commission to Cardboard Citizens to write a new play, Slummers, for their upcoming Home Truths season. Sonali is from Leicester and lives in Walthamstow.
